On April 11th the KC Wizards will try to be the first team to beat your Seattle Sounders or for that matter score against them. Help keep our fortress strong & the clean sheet rolling for Kasey Kelller. The South Sound Supporters' bus will leave at 5:15pm and hopefully make the tail of the March to the Match. You can join the fun by signing up at the bar.
GO SOUNDERS!
The 2009 Boston Red Sox season was supposed to start today at 11:05am, but it was cancelled because of rain. Hot dogs, baked beans & cold beer. Every game this season will be broadcast live. Come catch the fever as the boys from Boston make there way to another fall classic.
The pledge Drive came to a close at 2am this morning. Thank you to everyone who participated by drinking beer and the person who gave $2 but did not want an Irish Stout. You helped us raise $937 dollars for Public Radio. This beat our old record of $842 from last Spring.
The breakdown for the two stations is: KUOW $783 & KPLU $154.
We are excited to have KPLU be a part of this years promotion and look forward to helping them out in future pledge drives. We hoped that more of the people who had asked us to include KPLU would have come in and raised a Beamish. Next Fall we can close the gap.
Drink well, do good work and keep in touch.
The bus for the Real Salt Lake game this Saturday will depart at 5:15pm and return 30 minutes after the final whistle. There are seats still available. See the bartender to register. Cost is $10.
Spring pledge drives, public radio and a good Irish stout those are a few of my favorite things. Starting yesterday, March 23rd, through April 2nd we will be donating a dollar to public radio for every pint of Guinness and Beamish sold. You can choose which station to support by your choice of beer. To support KPLU order up a Beamish and to support KUOW make it a Guinness. Thank you in advance for drinking and helping raise money for National Public Radio.
Be well, do good work and keep in touch
Last week was a blur with St. Patrick's day & the Sounders season opener. Thank you to the 2,500 people who stopped by on Tuesday to say hello. The home opener was a bus load of fun.
We are launching a new music series on Thursday nights with the help of Jesse T and the Majestics (cerebral alt-punk glam jazz instrumental quartet). See the flier.
Preparing another supporter bus for the March 28th game against Real Salt Lake. Sign-up at the bar on a first come first serve basis. Cost is $10 which is not bad cause you figure having a bathroom on your bus for an extra $4 is better then riding Sound Transit.
Neither rain nor sleet nor snow will deter a good time. The wind was wipping and the tent was rocking and the Stout Pounders put on another lively show. Heaters are up and running for tonight as the final touches get put on for another big time in the big tent. Lake Doyles, the parking lot, is staying dry thanks to Sun Belt Rentals and their pump.
Tonight's music starts at 8pm with May/Neiberg, A Room Called Remember & The Joshua Cain Band. No cover tonight or on St. patrick's day.
We have aquired all the necesary legal documentation to make St. Patrick's weekend a fully sanctioned event.
The liquor store actually called us back to make sure our order was not a mistake.
Nothing says St. Patrick's day, Spring Traing and March Maddness like snow on the ground...oops that was supposed to be a Big tent in Doyle's parking lot.
This Friday the BIG tent and the BIG Guinness go up in preperation for the weekend festivities. We will be opening up at 6am Friday, Saturday & Tuesday.
Wyatt Goldsmith is the winner of Dublin on Doyle's '09. He and a lucky friend will receive round trip airfare to Dublin, Ireland.
We are already two bottles in to Dublin on Doyles '10. No worries there are 364 more days to get your bottle on the wall.
