Amanda
Amanda is new to Washington. She grew up in Pennsylvania and transplanted first to NYC at 18, where she lied about her age to start bartending at an Irish pub. After 12 years in the cocktail and restaurant scene there and two years living in Barcelona, Amanda traded shakers for textbooks and migrated home to begin undergrad during the pandemic, ultimately transferring to the University of Puget Sound. An enthusiastic biology and environmental policy student full time, in her free time, when she is not aiming to create the most complicated cocktails Doyle's seasonal menus have ever seen, she is probably researching something. Last summer she completed a project that examined how urban heat islands influence bird diversity, and this fall will begin work in a lab that looks at microbial methane sources in marine environments and the ecological processes controlling them. She did not lie about her age to get this Irish pub job.
