Rachel V.
Rachel grew up in Washington swimming, camping and hiking, and generally learning to love the outdoors. Playing all of the sports she could fit in, and mostly settled on softball and soccer, the latter of which she continued playing until a couple of injuries convinced her to hang up the cleats around 40. She attended college in Arizona, and while it is beautiful in its own way, she figured out fast how lucky she was to have been born in the PNW. Most of her free time is spent outside hiking and camping, but has become an accomplished back yard farmer over the last decade. Lots of blood, sweat, and even a few tears have been spent out in the garden (a.k.a. her happy place). A love of kayaking, paddle boarding, and floating rivers also keeps her outside. In addition to her two dogs, that are indistinguishable from children except they have less clothes, more hair, and potty outside she fosters dogs, whenever the chance arises (ask her to tell you more about it, if you're curious!). An eclectic taste in music, and love of going to live shows especially the original Showbox and The Gorge. One of her very favorite things to do is travel, and learn about other cultures and ways of life. She has been to about 20 countries with an even longer list of places that she wants to experience. A dollar spent on travel is a dollar well spent. Everyone should make the opportunity to travel and explore the world around them. Wine, gin, and whiskey are a few of her favorite things. She really appreciate the opportunity to pitch drink concoctions for consideration on the seasonal menus at Doyle’s.
